G Suite route to Gmail, send “Reply As” not working—Solved!
I couldn’t find this solution after googling my eyes out and much troubleshooting. I caved and called Google support (1-877-355-5787) and they were wonderful! I can’t say that about customer service from most companies.
- In G Suite follow the steps in yellow below in the screenshot… Apps > G Suite > Settings for Gmail > End User Access
2. Select Allow per-user outbound gateways and turn it on
3. Use an incognito browser and go to gmail.com and type in your G Suite email sample@yourdomain.org and enter password to login.
Here you’ll go to Security and Less secure app access (see screen) and turn it on.
4. Login to your @gmail account that you’re trying to add the Reply As and go through the usual steps (Accounts and Import > Send mail as > click to Add another email address > pop-up appears and go through the steps).
The SMTP server G Suite uses is smtp@gmail.com
If you already routed the @yourdomain.org to @gmail.com you’ll need to get the verification number from that email since this account will be forwarding already.
All done.
